There is a big difference between general exercise which involves taking a functional body part and improving it, and rehabilitation (which involves taking a dysfunctional body part and making it functional).
We apply a patient-centered model in our work with rehabilitation patients, with the emphasis on recovery, reactivation and self-management. In other words: we go at the patient's pace to restore as much normal function as possible, with the patient actively involved in the process.
We use a variety of techniques to accomplish the goals of each individual patient. Dr. Missaghi has undergone extensive post graduate training in rehabilitation and has attained a fellowship with Canadian College of Rehabilitation Sciences. He specializes in helping patients recover from automobile accidents as well as work injuries and repetitive strain injuries and other chronic conditions.
In order to to shorten recovery time and degree, it is best to utilize a customized exercise program for each patient rather than a cookie cutter model that gives every patient the same exercise sheet.
